80th Indiana Volunteer Infantry
An American Civil War Regiment

Below are brief descriptions of the 80th's day-to-day experiences during June, 1863. The regiment began the month camped at Glasgow in Barren County, Kentucky.  This month the 80th was transferred from the 34th Brigade, which was assigned to the District of Western Kentucky in the Department of the Ohio, to the 2nd Brigade of the 3rd Division of the 23rd Corps in the Army of the Ohio.

During that time it marched over 3,700 miles on foot and fought in the states of Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, and North Carolina. Of the 1,036 men who served in it, only 320 were still with the 80th when it came home.
